The article is about a Stanford study2)https://sheg.stanford.edu/upload/V3LessonPlans/Executive%20Summary%2011.21.16.pdf into how well middle school, high school and college students are able to validate news and/or consider whether news is fake or not.
The study found, alarmingly, that students typically did not, we were not able to, form an opinion about whether news was fake or not.
"What we see is a rash of fake news going on that people pass on without thinking," he said. "And we really can't blame young people because we've never taught them to do otherwise."
